About the Rescue
Your Love Unleashed Dog Rescue accepts large breed dogs; specifically Rottweilers and Shepherds. However, we will accept any large breed of dog that needs our help, if we are ABLE to help them. This includes networking out to our connections at other dog rescues & organizations if they are more suited for a particular dog or breed. Being in this industry affords us the opportunity to work with many great rescue organizations in California and neighboring states.
Our Founder/Owner
Brandy founded Your Love Unleashed Dog Rescue in 2002, stemming from a deep passion for saving dogs. If you have ever had the honor of meeting her and seeing her in action, It is unlike anything you likely have ever seen. She speaks dog, don't believe me, watch for yourself! She spends her life dedicated to saving large breed dogs that are overlooked because of their breed, stigma about shelter pets, mishandling by reckless people, unfair disposition ratings by inexperienced handlers , namely Rottweilers. At the shelters if a dog so much as "grumbles under their breath they are immediately listed for euthanasia. We are failing our dogs. We get them as cute puppies, perhaps our kids have convinced us to get them a dog. That pup grown, has no manners, is pretty energetic, and BOOM, we no longer have time for our pup. Brandy's phone rings off the hook, voicemails, texts, emails, fb messages, instagram messages. She will never be without a job, so many irresponsible people with so many dogs needing help. It is a thankless job, one that never really ends, there are no breaks. Dogs will always need care, feeding, exercised, looked after. Ask her if she would change a single thing about rescuing dogs and the answer will always remain the same. She sacrifices daily for these dogs, she knows they deserve to have a second chance at a forever home.
Our Mission
To provide a voice for those without one. So many Rottweilers and German Shepherds are euthanized unnecessarily. The shelter system is over-loaded, and these dogs are quick to make a "red list" because they do not do well in a shelter environment. These dogs deserve to live, I help as often as I can, although it seems relentless and thankless. The dogs I am able to save, will know love, commitment, structure and socialization. We do not deserve dogs. They love unconditionally, and we could all serve to learn from dogs. Rottweilers will always have my heart, black and tan for life. It is a gift to be able to do what I love, It is not a job, it is a calling.
Our Volunteers
Volunteers are an important part of any rescue. Do you love dogs? Do you want to share your heart with as many as possible? Do you like to play with dogs? Can you transport a dog? Pick up from a shelter? Foster? Help photograph doggies for adoptable profiles? Help write grants? Run Social Media?
